Explorers

The Children’s Academy / Community of Hope Campus’ after school program is offered at our sister school The Mansfield Montessori School located at Matlock and Country Club Drive. The after school program is called the Explorers program. The Mansfield Montessori School picks up from all local Mansfield Public Schools. Junior Explorers are kindergarten, first and second graders, Senior Explorers are third grade and older. During the school year from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM there is quiet time or study time. Children are encouraged to finish their homework while at our school. Usually the Explorer teachers are second or third year college students who are capable of helping or tutoring the children if they have a problem. If a child does not have home work they can read to accumulate more reading points for school or work on worksheets to improve study skills. After 5:00 PM and on Fridays the explorers are allowed to play outside, watch a movie, play video games or visit the centers in the room.

During the summer, the Explorers program becomes The Sizzling Summer program. The children are kept quite busy with weekly field trips, swimming lessons, golf lessons, tennis lessons, and karate lessons. The Sizzling Summer Program allows your child to have a summer that they will remember for a long-long time. The summer also includes a Skills Enhancement program in reading, math, and language. The program is an excellent way for your child to retain what they have learned while their regular school is closed during the summer months.
